Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The author

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
