Barça Ready for Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years following their departure so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans can be present based on approved permits. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
